Belgium, briefly

Three laid-back days on great roads

A great tour doesn't necessarily have to be a long one – especially if it's your first one. This laid-back three-day ride from the Eurotunnel heads to Belgium for a great ride on the quiet, twisty roads of the Ardennes. It's a cracking ride, regardless of whether you're a veteran tourer or you've never been to Europe before.

What’s included on the route? Each day’s route has recommended places to stop for coffee in the morning and afternoon, a suggested lunch stop and planned fuel stops. Hotel recommendations are included too.

How long is each day’s ride? These are full days in the saddle: check-out of the hotel and get on the road at 9am, getting to the next location around 5pm. That's with coffee stops and lunch – it is a proper ride each day but it's not an Iron Butt challenge. It's a laid-back biking holiday.
Saddle-time rating: five out of 10.

What are the highlights? That's simple: the Ardennes. This is all about getting to those lovely roads as quickly as possible – without boring yourself to death on motorways – then enjoying miles of excellent road surfaces and brilliant bends.

Why three days? Not every tour needs to be a marathon. This is a long-weekend break designed to make it simple to fit a European biking break into your summer.

How is it supplied? Each download includes an interactive eBook of notes plus individual GPX files covering the rides, for sat navs and suitable phone navigation apps. However, I strongly recommend getting the tour pack which comes with tankbag notes and a marked-up map as well.
